Welcome! We know that a health care journey often raises more questions than answers. We also know that sometimes you don’t know what questions to ask, especially when you are living with an illness and under stress. The internet can be a confusing place filled with misinformation, especially when looking for information about your health. That’s why we created “Pathways to Empowerment,” which is based on questions we have heard from patients and provides easy access to useful and reliable resources for each topic. This resource hub provides you with basic information on how to communicate effectively with your providers, make informed medical decisions, and sort out health-related financial, legal, and employment issues. Information is presented as answers to commonly asked questions, personal stories from our clients, media clips, and links to reliable information sources available online. We have organized these questions under four main topics - Medical, Money, Work, and Coping and related sub-topics. We want you to know that you are not alone.
